Hi everybody, I’m Mike Staver, this is Mondays with Mike, a weekly video series where I answer questions sent to me by people like you. Here’s this week’s question.
Dear Mike, I tend to be easily distracted. I focus on things for a few minutes and then I drift away. It’s very frustrating. Any suggestions on how to stay more fully present and focused?
YES. Do not put your phone next to you when you’re trying to film a segment (ha!). That’s one way you can do it.
The second thing that you can do is this. Take a couple of deep breaths, and ask people questions. If you’re having a hard time when you’re in a conversation with a person what you need to do is ask more questions and be more engaged with them. And that way you won’t drift away so easily.
Usually distraction like that has to do with a lot of things tapping on your shoulder. So, give yourself time to focus on that one thing and I think you’ll be a lot more successful.
I’m Mike Staver this is Mondays with Mike, take care.
