Hi everybody, I’m Mike Staver, this Mondays with Mike, a weekly video series where I answer questions from people just like you. Here it is:
Mike, when is it time to focus and stop coming up with new ideas? I tend to come up with new ideas all the time, but I don’t seem to finish the previous ones.
I’m going to say two words. Accountability partner. You need to have somebody in your life that holds you accountable. And by holding you accountable says “Finish one thing, before you start another.”
I have what’s called an idea funnel. But when it comes out here, I do something with it. I either implement the idea, destroy the idea, or move the idea down the pipe. I don’t do anything with the next idea until I’ve fully vetted and worked this idea out. I would suggest that you do that.
If you’re not completing things and you’re an idea person, you need a partner (an accountability partner) to help. It’ll help every single time. Your ideas are great, but lack of implementation makes the ideas worthless, because nothing’s ever coming out of them.
Hope that was helpful. Until next time, this is Mondays with Mike. Take care.
