Help with Crazy Schedules

Hi everyone, I’m Mike Staver, this is Mondays with Mike, a weekly video series where I answer questions from people just like you. Here we go:

Mike, when is it time to deal with my crazy calendar? I need help.

My team is going to laugh until they pee-pee themselves about this question because my calendar is crazy. There’s only one way to do it. That is hand your calendar over to somebody that has your best interests at heart. They need to manage your calendar so it keeps you alive. I mean I’m only 30… look at me… this is what a bad calendar does! (Jokes)

Calendars will kill you. You need to give your calendar to somebody and tell them you want this percentage of time blocked off in a week. We just moved to a calendaring system where it’s color-coded and we block off specific times in my calendar just so I can think, and just so I can rest.

That’s what you gotta do because if you’ve got a problem by saying yes all the time, then that’s going to be a problem. Alright? Give it to somebody else. You’ll like it. And then schedule alone time just for you. Trust me the world will not collapse. You’re not that important.
