Hi everybody, I’m Mike Staver. This is Mondays with Mike, a weekly video series where I answer questions from people just like you. I love this week’s question!
Do you believe there is usually one right answer?
Yes I do. And it’s generally mine. NO! There’s not generally one right answer! There’s generally multiple answers.
I give you guys answers every week from my own experience and expertise, but my answer’s not the only answer! In fact, we got some snarky email from somebody the other day that said “What makes you think you have all the answers?”
So, no, there’s not only one right answer. There’s a lot of answers to questions. You know where you get in trouble though? Where you get in trouble is when you start thinking that YOU have the right answer.
I know this question was probably written because somebody else thinks they’re right all the time, but I want you to think better about your own way of seeing things.
I was on a call the other day with somebody and they were sharing with me that they had clarity about something that was going on. And after I thought about it I said “There could be other answers…” and they were like “No. There couldn’t be.”
Any time you get locked into rigidity you’re going to find yourself locked in a world of hurt. No, there’s not only one answer. Look for every possible answer, and then sort through the data, the facts, the information so that you can come to the answer that works for you. Especially inside the boundaries of morals, ethics, and values…
I’m Mike Staver, this is Mondays with Mike. Take care!
